If you want non-toxic, pro-quality stainless steel without All-Clad’s price, Cuisinart’s MultiClad Pro is a top choice. It has a durable 3-ply build with the exact same materials – an aluminum core sandwiched between 18/10 stainless steel. So if you buy the MultiClad Pro, you get real full-clad performance. All-Clad still wins here because of its heavier walls, up to 7-ply build options, and strict USA manufacturing standards. But the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro is much closer to All-Clad than most people realize.

Close behind were the T-fal Stainless Steel Set and the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro , both stainless steel performers. As for the traditional nonstick sets, the Calphalon Premier Set came out on top for achieving the best sear.

It's hard to find fault with this attractive stainless steel cookware set from Cuisinart. The pieces have a brushed exterior, except for the steamer and lids, which have a mirror finish, so they'll look good in any kitchen. The set also includes a sensible range of sizes, so you'll always have the right pan for the job, whether you're cooking for one or making a pot of stew for the family, and they're easy to keep clean. Not only are they great for glass stoves, they're also compatible with induction stoves. In testing, we found that the pans heated and retained heat well, letting us achieve nice crusts on scallops while also turning out a gorgeous frittata with minimal sticking.

It can be a convenient choice for individual portions, smaller meals, or cooking tasks that benefit from a more compact pan. The smaller footprint can also make it easier to work with when counter or storage space is limited. The product information also identifies this item with a universal double boiler, adding another dimension to its functionality. A double boiler setup is particularly relevant for cooking applications that call for gentler, indirect heating, rather than placing ingredients directly over heat source. That makes this cookware combination potentially useful for recipes where controlled heating is important. The stainless steel construction is another practical consideration.

Stainless steel also gives this cookware a classic appearance and a durable feel, making it a sensible choice for someone who prefers traditional metal cookware over more specialized alternatives. The included cover adds another layer of versatility. A skillet or saucepan becomes more useful when cooking tasks require the contents to be covered, so having a matching cover included means there is no need to treat it as a separate purchase. The 3-quart capacity is particularly relevant for everyday portions, sauces, side dishes, and other preparations where a smaller pan is more practical than a large pot. One thing to consider is that stainless steel cookware can have a different cooking feel from cookware designed around nonstick surfaces.
