Flagged as a product to avoid

3 of 10 research runs entered this as a product to avoid rather than a pick.

Its pro-grade PID precision is real and unmatched among portables, but it costs several times what the Duxtop 9600LS costs, and that precision matters mainly to technique obsessives and sous-vide devotees. For everyday boiling, frying and simmering, the Duxtop does the job.

  1. Its pro-grade PID precision is real and unmatched among portables, but it costs several times what the Duxtop 9600LS costs, and that precision matters mainly to technique obsessives and sous-vide devotees. For everyday boiling, frying and simmering, the Duxtop does the job.

  2. It is a professional precision instrument sold to home cooks who will use a fraction of its capability, at many times the price of a Duxtop 9600LS that handles real home cooking with ease. Unless you regularly temper chocolate or hold exact sous-vide-adjacent temperatures, you are buying a badge, not performance.

  3. A superb precision instrument, but as a daily burner it costs several times a Duxtop for the same boil and the same basic induction heating. For almost every buyer, the Duxtop 9600LS is the answer.

Thanks to its dual ventilation system, the Control Freak is the only induction cooktop on the market that can cook as high at a temperature as you want. And finally, we'll mention the size of 19 by 13.5 by 5 in, while the weight is 16.2 lb. If you can afford this beast, we say go for it.
