TESTING RESULTS: This food processor performed very well in testing, scoring four out of five in almost every performance test. It grated parmesan cheese amongst the quickest and most even, and it sliced zucchini paper-thin on the thinnest setting. Tomatoes sliced neatly after the initial cut, and pepperoni mostly even. The accessories were all easy to use and adjust.

Frequently asked questions

It ranks #8 of 16 on our food processors tier list, in B tier. That placement draws on 10 independent outlets.

None of the 10 sources with a clear view is critical of it. You are paying for capability. Warranty does not match the price tag.

Smaller households that want Breville-grade slicing and dicing without the counter space of a big Sous Chef. Bon Appetit names it a co-best-overall recommendation for smaller households and Serious Eats flags it too. It sits in B tier, eighth on our board. If space is not the constraint, the Cuisinart Custom 14-Cup Food Processor (DFP-14BCNY) in S tier is the better long-term buy for most people.

Only if you will use the capability. Our research notes you are paying for performance, and that the warranty does not match the price tag. For a compact machine that is mainly chopping and shredding, the KitchenAid 7-Cup Food Processor (KFP0718) in B tier does the basic jobs for less. The Paradice earns its cost when you want precise slicing and dicing in a small footprint.

For one to three people, yes. Nine cups takes most everyday prep, from a batch of salsa to a bowl of shredded vegetables, and a single batch of pastry dough. It is not the size for bulk batch cooking, where a twelve to fourteen cup bowl saves emptying the bowl mid-job.

Buy the Breville Sous Chef 12 Food Processor (BFP660) if you have the space. It sits in A tier with nearly all of the 16's capability, while the Breville Paradice 9 Food Processor is in B tier. Choose the Paradice only when its compact footprint is the deciding factor, since both share the same short-warranty caveat.
