The AquaTru Carafe was the first alternative to the Brita filter that felt like it would work for me, while providing me with higher quality drinking water. Over the past six months, I have put the device to the test, filtering enough tap water for three adults in a hard water area (329mg/L CACO3). Keep reading to learn more about the AquaTru Carafe and find out what I thought after using it daily for six months.

It performed better than any other countertop water filter in our testing, and we were impressed with its comprehensive performance and design certifications, as well as its superior design quality and glass vessel for collecting purified water.

Based on the evidence, the AquaTru Carafe is a solid buy for the small-household, apartment, or RV buyer it’s built for. The current 10% off offer makes now a reasonable time to consider one.

A basic water filter pitcher is not even going to come close to removing all of the nasty things you want out of your water like fluoride, lead, PFAS, and so many other things. That's why I have the AquaTru Carafe.

Aside from removing packaging materials and cleaning out the components, this system is plug-andplay. No plumbing, no modifications. Second is the fact that it's not permanent. This is a countertop system, so it can be used anywhere at any time. And third is a glass carff. It just felt weird to me to get this fancy filtration system and have the water sitting in plastic. Now I know countertop space is valuable real estate. So let's get right into the dimensions.

The AquaTru Carafe Alkaline is a powerful, no-installation countertop reverse osmosis purifier designed for smaller households. Using a 4-stage system, it removes up to 84 harmful contaminants like lead and PFOA/PFOS, while the final filter stage remineralizes the water with calcium and magnesium to create healthy, alkaline water. Perfect for renters, offices, or anyone wanting RO water without plumbing.

The voltage question is the only blocker — if the Amazon AU listing ships a 240V-compatible unit (confirm before purchasing), it’s a strong choice for 1-2 person households or anyone who wants purified water stored in glass. For families or anyone who can’t verify voltage, the AquaTru Classic Smart Alkaline on Amazon AU is the confirmed 240V alternative with higher daily output and a lower filter cost per litre.

I’m going back to the Classic because its larger capacity is more practical for our household. But I still prefer several features of the Carafe, especially the glass pitcher and being able to move it or put it directly in the refrigerator.

The Carafe makes sense for dorm rooms, offices, very tight kitchens, or anyone for whom the plastic tanks are the dealbreaker. Everyone else is better off putting the difference toward the Classic’s first year of replacement filters.

It seems that aquatru has better certifications, and a few websites i found rated aquatru as the best countertop filter that’s available. However, on amazon aquatru has a lot fewer reviews and lower stars than bluevua.
