The all-new Fire TV Cube is, by far, our favorite Amazon streaming device – better in so many ways than the Amazon Fire TV Cube that was released in 2017. The processor upgrade and inclusion of Dolby Vision are great new additions and, in spite of a few shortcomings, help solidify the Cube's spot as one of the best streaming players to be released this year.Watch

The Fire TV Cube is still one of Amazon’s best streaming devices, but with newer Fire TV Stick hardware, the 2026 Fire TV interface, Vega OS, Google TV alternatives, Apple TV 4K, Mini PCs, and the ageing NVIDIA Shield all changing the streaming device landscape, the question is becoming harder to ignore.Watch T
This latest Amazon Fire TV Cube 3rd Gen model is a somewhat good box bad box release, meaning there are a lot of good things and there are lots of disappointing things about it. In my opinion they chose a very good chipset used in this model that is a high-end and it ideal for 4K video playback and high performance gaming.Watch D

The Fire TV Cube is a better "all-in-one" hub thanks to its built-in microphones—you can talk to it even when the TV is off. It also features an HDMI Input, allowing you to run your cable box through the Cube and control it via voice. The Apple TV 4K is more of a traditional (though powerful) streaming box that relies on the remote's Siri button.Watch B

The Fire TV Cube 2026 is powerful, fast, and smart, but not perfect. It's a premium experience with a few Amazon style trade-offs.Watch M
Ideal if you want voice first control and fast responsiveness, but not great if you're budget conscious or dislike ads.Watch P
However, the Fire TV Cube isn't flawless. The interface is cluttered with Amazon ads and Prime Video promotions, which can feel intrusive. Picture quality, while solid, lacks the vibrancy of competitors like the Apple TV 4K, with some noting muted colors. Alexa's voice control can be inconsistent, occasionally misinterpreting commands.Watch

Again, the Fire TV Cube trashes Dolby Vision. It tone maps in the player instead allowing your TV to perform the tone mapping. When it does, it does a poor job at it. Its not supposed to be tone mapping at all. For Dolby Digital Plus Atmos, the Fire TV Cube decodes in the player and uses a 5.1.2 speaker layout and turns the objects into channels.Read thread C
