Cheap and thin, but its battery lasts only ~3 days and firmware updates have stalled after two years. It’s outclassed by the Xiaomi Watch S4 and Fitbit Sense 2 at similar price points.

The Amazfit Active 2 got a whopping five stars in our review, because a watch this good simply shouldn't be this cheap. Now the Amazfit Active 2 Premium, which boasts a sapphire-glass screen and NFC payments in addition to the base Active 2's suite of health features, has received an Amazon Prime Day price cut in the US and the UK, and it's the perfect price point for anyone who's looking for a cheaper fitness tracker, and who's dissatisfied with the changes to the former Fitbit app as a result of its rebranding as Google Health.Read V

As a long term Galaxy Watch wearer (from gen 1 to 7) and an Apple Watch gen 11 wearer (for 3 days), IMO, the Active 2 kicks both Samsung and Apple’s ass. Not having to charge your watch every single day is a game changer. At a fraction of the price, sure, you’re not gonna get all the bells and whistles but you get enough and don’t feel ripped off paying ridiculous prices for a bunch of superfluous features. I have a Bip 6 and Active 2 to cover square vs round and still had enough money left over to get a Nintendo Switch 2.Read thread A
So in terms of design this is definitely very interesting and definitely takes me back to the old school design where you will not even feel that this is actually a smart watch and you will feel that this is a regular watch but it is quite smart. Talking about the display, it comes with a 1.32-inch AMOLED panel in which you get a brightness of 2000 nits, which is also a very interesting feature. The colours are quite vibrant. The black levels are deep and the UI overall looks quite crisp. Touch response is also quite smooth.Watch R
Starting at under $100, it boasts an impressive AMOLED screen with 2,000 nits max screen brightness (the same as an Apple Watch 10), over 160 workout tracking modes, ten days of battery, improved sleeping-tracking and heart health monitoring tools, support for downloadable maps, a stylish all-metal case and a lightweight, easy-wearing design. Subscription-free, the Active 2 plays nicely with both Android and iOS devices. It also looks darn classy on the wrist.Read D
At this price point, you can see that the Active 2 has a good design, full features, and even includes GPS and a good screen.Watch T
Hear us out: the Amazfit Active 2 is the best all-rounder on the block. Smartwatches are definitely getting more high-tech, but the Active 2 keeps the spirit of a humble fitness tracker — a good price, all the basic health features with a holistic tracking approach, and a comfy yet stylish design. At $99.99 for the standard version and $129.99 for the premium version with a leather band, you get an incredible amount of bang for your buck.Read T
I can't believe this watch, which we rated five stars, is just $99. This is the Amazfit Active 2. For just $99, this little fitness watch far outstrips its price tag. It's got a big battery life, a stainless steel exterior, a nice AMOLED screen, and loads of sports tracking capabilities. If you're looking for a cheaper Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy Watch alternative, this little watch is the one to get.Watch T
On average, I did a workout once a day and the Active 2 gave me between four and five days battery life with the Always-On display on. If you use GPS frequently for outdoor runs or walks, you may see a drop in that figure though many of my daily workouts were outdoor running for around 30 minutes, so that gives you some idea of its capabilities based on real-world use.Read T

As recently as February 2025, Amazfit launched the Active 2, a smartwatch with one of the strongest price-to-performance ratios currently available. Now, Amazfit is doubling down with the Active Max – the larger, more ambitious sibling of the Active 2. That alone makes it worth a closer look, especially since the Active 2 itself never made it onto my wrist.Read T

Right off the bat, what I can say about this watch is it looks uh super premium, especially with that default analog watch face that's on there right now.Watch T
Despite these drawbacks, the combination of comprehensive tracking, recovery tools, and smart features makes it an excellent entry-level sports smartwatch at a highly competitive price. Both displays are super bright with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, which is insane for smart watches at this price point. Text is clear, colors are punchy, and sunlight visibility is excellent on both. However, there are some key differences in protection.Watch N

It looks absolutely gorgeous. It comes with this uh leather-looking band. Don't know if it's actually leather, but it looks absolutely gorgeous, this watch. We have a mic here and I guess the speakers are on this side and then this thing, I love this thing. This is USB-C enabled, so you can just plug in your phone's USB-C charger and it is magnetic, so it very quickly and easily just connects to the back of the watch and you can just charge it with the USB-C. So, traveling with it is also easy, something I really like. And it's pretty, you know, the connection is pretty strong with the watch.Watch C

offline maps, which is a amazing feature that is included in this watch, because this watch is only $99 in the United States.Watch D
So, to get an extra watch strap and a sapphire lens for $30 is an unbelievably good deal. Being as the lens is raised up a bit above the bezel, I would say spring for that premium version if it's available and you could hopefully avoid as many scratches as possible.Watch W
What's great about this watch is for such a low price point, you actually get maps on it. There's watches out there that cost three times more than this and have less maps than what this one offers. You have to go download an offline map of your location before you'll see a map. You do that with the Zepp app. I've already got one downloaded.Watch M
Both versions support offline maps, voice assistants, built-in microphones and speakers, and receive regular updates, so long-term performance should remain strong. Health and fitness tracking capabilities are nearly identical between the two.Watch M
This makes it an excellent choice for gymgoers and fitness enthusiasts. The Amazfit T-Rex 3 includes similar health functions, but with a stronger emphasis on outdoor sports, it provides detailed sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, and SPO2 measurement. While it lacks the automatic strength training recognition of the Active 2, it excels in sports tracking with over 150 workout modes tailored for extreme activities such as hiking, climbing, and open water swimming.Watch A
Under the midday sun, the screen remains clear, the colors pop and it doesn't tire your eyes .Watch T
Now, there's another AI feature here called Zep Coach where you can provide some initial details and the app will build a customized training program for you which you can load onto the active 2 and then the watch along with the Zep app will guide you through that training program. A really good feature which is provided for free to all users. Now, what I'm not really happy about is this specific section called Zep Aura. This is where Amazfit have taken all of the sleep data gathered by the active 2, done some further in-depth analysis and then put a payw wall of around $10 a month to access the results of that analysisWatch T
And I'm a big fan of the Active 2's design.Watch E
Where it really shines is reliability. The watch just works. No random crashes, no constant syncing issues, no weird bugs ruining workouts, but it's not all perfect. Features and tech. Let's talk about the features that actually matter. First up, built-in GPS. This is huge at this price.Watch T
and it's excellent. It's great.Watch F
Not just a great affordable running watch, but one of the most impressive budget multi-sport watches I've ever tested, the Amazfit Active 2. At around 6,000 pesos, it delivers features and performance you'd usually expect from much more expensive watches. I've been using this for the past 2 months, putting it through runs and multi-sport workouts. And honestly, it's been surprisingly reliable, especially when it comes to GPS accuracy and overall performance.Watch A

However, there have been significant questions among users about the update, as the new BioCharge function is not functioning properly for all users.Read D
So, Amit's Active 2 was no doubt an insane value at $100 to $130, but it had some limitations. I mean, it is just $100, though, which at that price, it's kind of hard to complain. But there were still some things about it that held it back a bit, like size, battery life, as well as storage. And the Active Max basically looks to address all those things.Watch T
The speaker sounds fine, but could be a bit louder. There is also an app store with even more watch apps, but the selection is limited and lacks apps from major brands. What I personally miss is a feature to save and play music offline . In some other countries that feature seems to be available, but on my watch it is also missing with the latest firmware.Watch D
While the prices are comparable, the Bip 6 is the clear winner if you're looking to save a bit of cash.Watch D
It's a perfectly good size. It's clear and responsive. It gets up to 2,000 nits, so it's generally readable outdoors. However, the Active Max takes a big leap. It has a huge 1.5 in AMOLED screen, and that extra space makes a real difference. Menus are easier to use, you see more of your notifications, and watch faces just feel more detailed. But, the biggest upgrade isn't just the size, it's the brightness. The Active Max can go all the way up to 3,000 nits. To put that in perspective, that's flagship level brightness.Watch M
But the Bip 6 opts for a matte aluminum frame that looks clean and resists fingerprints, while the Active 2's stainless steel frame has a premium touch, but may pick up smudges more easily. Display differences are a key deciding factor. The Active 2 has a 1.32 in AMOLED display, while the Bip 6 offers a much larger 1.97 in AMOLED screen. Both are bright, crisp, and visible outdoors, featuring automatic brightness adjustments. However, the Bip 6's flatter surface leads to fewer reflections compared to the curved glass of the Active 2, giving it an edge in direct sunlight. The larger screen also enhances usability for reading notifications and interacting with apps, though it marginally affects battery life.Watch M
It doesn't feel as opulent as its competitor, though, because the body is primarily made of plastic with a stainless steel ring.Watch U
The Amazfit Active 2, while slightly smaller at 1.32 inches, still delivers sharp visuals and excellent contrast. Its always-on display customization allows users to match or change their always-on watch face, adding a layer of personalization. The Galaxy Watch 7, on the other hand, benefits from Samsung's expertise in display technology, making it a standout choice for those who prioritize screen quality. Health functions are a crucial aspect of both smartwatches. The Amazfit Active 2 offers robust fitness tracking, including heart rate, blood oxygen, stress monitoring, and sleep tracking. Its one-tap measurement feature provides a quick way to check multiple health metrics simultaneously.Watch 5
Batterywise, the Bip 6 has a 340 mAh cell, slightly bigger than the Active 2's 207 mAh, which means it lasts longer, up to 14 days versus 10 days on the Active 2.Watch

The Amazfit Active 2’s GPS is less accurate than Garmin’s, full stop. Looking at GPS map data from my outdoor runs, the Amazfit would often place me near roads I was running on, but not actually on them. Running in NYC parks, it would often put me on trails near the main path, but not actually on the main path. This only got worse when I did hill training: the Garmin kept my GPS line on the hill path as I ran back and forth, while Amazfit’s made it seem like I was running off the path every time.Read F Facebook Douglas Hurteau · owner

Heart rate tracking performance during different exercises, sleep stage tracking performance, and GPS testing if the device actually has GPS like the Amazement Active 2 does have. So for the heart rate tracking performance, I actually use an ECG chest strap as a reference. So these straps you wear around your chest that actually measure the electrical activity of your heart.Watch
