The updated upper is made with lightweight Matryx fabric reinforced with Kevlar, which adds structure and abrasion resistance, though it can make a faint “crinkling” noise when walking. Though we haven’t seen early wear in testing, the thinner outsole rubber might not last as long on rough, rocky terrain , especially if you are an avid hiker.Read T
While testing these boots we found that the interior GORE-TEX liner helped our feet to stay dry but the exterior DWR coating quickly failed, contributing to boot weight.Read B
The downside to the boot’s light weight is there’s a thinner sole and less cushion underneath, but it isn’t so thin that my feet hurt from rock pounding.Read C
