  2. A deliberately minimal formula sold at a premium subscription price behind heavy marketing, now facing a class action alleging it does not contain all 13 essential vitamins despite the name. Thorne Basic Nutrients 2/Day offers far more complete coverage for less.

Ritual Essential for Men 50+ is our top choice for men over 50 because it’s specifically formulated to help meet age-related nutritional needs for your heart, bone, and immune health. Knauer particularly likes the 2,000 IU of vitamin D included in the formula. “As we age, our skin becomes less efficient at producing vitamin D from sunlight,” she says. “In practice, I often recommend around 2,000 IU of vitamin D daily as a baseline, since many standard multivitamins don’t provide adequate amounts. Ritual’s Essential for Men 50+ MVI includes more optimal dosing along with other key nutrients that tend to be low in this population.

Designed for men ages 18 to 49, this vegan and gluten-free multivitamin is gentle on the stomach and features a delayed-release design that dissolves later in the digestive tract, where absorption is higher and sensitivity is lower. The capsules have a mint essence for a fresh taste and require two pills daily, which can be taken with or without food.

What impressed me the most during my four-month journey taking this vitamin was how much more enjoyable it was compared to traditional multivitamins. And that's Ritual's whole approach: Minty fresh scent and taste, auto-ship subscriptions, detailed ingredient sources, and sleek packaging take the fuss out of taking a daily supplement.

The Ritual Essential for Men Multivitamin 18+ is a well reviewed multivitamin with quality ingredients. The only notable complaint was the mint flavoring.
