If you’re looking for something extra than a basic extender, Netgear’s EAX12 is well worth a look. Its Wi-Fi capabilities are more than ample for a typical household, although they’re not much different to the dirt-cheap Mercusys ME60X. In my tests, I found download speeds ranged from 205Mbits/sec with my laptop in the same room as the extender, dropping to 144Mbits/sec in adjoining rooms.

Perhaps this reflects the popularity of Mesh kits or the fact that Wi-Fi 6 routers have a lot of reach already but the Netgear EAX12 is a member of a fairly rare breed.
