So, this gadget's a little bit different from what I would normally look at, but I'm excited to try it out because it is different and it's in a category that I haven't really looked at before. It's from a company called Milesy, and it's the Gan Pro G1, and it might be like the most advanced rangefinder out there.

For golfers looking to invest in a premium device that offers more than just basic distances, the GenePro G1 is an excellent choice. Overall, this falls into the high range of all rangefinders, but the features are there to justify the price. If you are looking to add knowledge, features, and a screen all on your rangefinder, then take a look at the MILESEEY GenePro G1.

What a great first drive of the morning. And so, 236 to the flag, 224 to carry the bunker on the left. It looks like the pin's at the back and I've got an overhanging tree in front of me. So, I've got five-wood gripped down to try and help me launch it over this tree. I'm going to start it over the right and I'm gripping down because I think it's a bit too much club. Keep drawing. Keep drawing.

For me, the perfect combination is have GPS with a laser. But, it's sometimes very cumbersome to have a watch as well as a laser. Takes up a little bit of time. So, combining the two is an ideal scenario, and that's where we've now got the Malzery Genie Pro G1 rangefinder with GPS screen also on it.

The short answer: yes, and then some. The G1 isn't just a rangefinder with a GPS bolted on. It's a genuinely integrated course management tool that changes how you think about each hole before you pull a club.

Super super impressed with all its features. I'm going to run through them all in this particular video. Now, when it comes to rangefinders, there's a ton of choice out on the market. We've got GPS, we've got laser. Now, this incorporates both. It's a hybrid. We've got the GPS on the side of it as well as a laser. And I think that is an absolute gamecher.

This rangefinder is packed with features. But before I go into those features, I'm going to play a few holes out on the course and just share with you how I could use this rangefinder to help me with my game. And I'll go into some details of what this can do later. So guys, the first thing of course is to have a rangefinder that you have confidence in the number.

And I managed to find this bad boy as its replacement. So, the first point that attracted me to this is the 10-year guarantee, but we have the Milesy Gan Pro G1. And this is a lovely bit of kit. We've got a screen on the side, which is 2.13 in, I believe, which is the biggest screen we have on any of these devices in the market. And we have a few different things that we can do on this.

So, what this is is top class, top of the range, and it's got everything you can ever need as a distance device uh rolled into one. So, previously uh I've used rangefinders, and I've used course guides, uh and I've used handheld devices, um similar to like your golf watch. And this little baby and this this baby rolls them all into one. So, that's all you need to carry around.

What bugs me is the lack of any battery indicator on the display. You're flying blind until it suddenly dies mid-round. I've trained myself to charge it every Sunday night as part of my routine, but a simple battery percentage would eliminate the guesswork. The device does give you a low battery warning when you're down to about 20%, but by then you're committed to finishing your round on fumes.

And after testing it out on the course, I've decided that it's good, but it's built for a very specific type of golfer. So, depending on how you actually play, this could either be a really impressive bit of kit or something that gets frustrating very quickly, which probably explains why the G1 was so heavily promoted on social media.

The fundamental problem (for me at least) is that the G1 simply packs too much into one package for the average golfer—most of whom are simply just concerned with getting reliable, accurate distance readouts and going about their round.
