39 LP on the category ladder what's LP?

A 2018 design coasting on its name: fraying braided cable, mechanical double-click risk, and dated weight. The G305 Lightspeed is the same brand's honest budget option.

If you want wireless at the same price, the Logitech G305 Lightspeed is the clearer answer; if you want a feature-loaded mouse for MMOs and productivity, step across to the Logitech G502 Hero.

I mean, the fight is so one-sided it's gotten to the point where this is not just the top seller on Amazon, but Logitech even made themselves their own little custom award to commemorate that they make the top selling gaming mouse on the freaking planet. I mean, how can a product line that was first announced at PAX 2014 still hold that crown? It can't be that good.

This 'Special Edition' rodent brings a unique colorway to the G502 Hero that looks pretty slick in our opinion, and yes, it features RGB lighting too.

It feels good. It feels really good on your hands, too. It feels so good. But, um yeah. Let's get in a game and let's see. I almost forgot.

Overall, the Logitech G502 Hero is still a solid mouse with great features and performance. It's quite bulky, though, so it may not suit smaller hands. I'd recommend it for users who want a feature-rich gaming mouse and don't mind the size.

The build quality is very decent. No rattling, no flexing, and no QC issues on this mouse. However, the coating on this mount doesn't feel high quality in my opinion, especially the rubberized grips on both side of the mouse. I don't know how long both of them will last, but until then, it doesn't feel too bad. Now, onto the glide.

But the key feature I mentioned earlier is also this mouse’s biggest issue: the scroll wheel. Like the Performance MX, the G502 features a button to switch between normal “notched” scrolling and endless freeform scrolling. This is fine at first, but over time, the scroll wheel became loose. And it’s not just me—I saw many threads online about this problem.

It has a heavier feel with the weights and the wire pulling it back and solid click feedback which I personally enjoyed for quite a while. The only design flaw on this mouse is that dirt traps up on the grips really easily and over my 2 and 1/2 years of using this there's quite a lot of buildup. Moving on to the 502 Hero Lightseed. It's the exact same design as the Hero.

Why am I reviewing the Logitech G502 X Lightspeed, a mouse from 2022, in the 2025? A few reasons. First, we want to make IGN’s gaming mice coverage as comprehensive as possible. That means revisiting some of the best available mice regardless of their age to see how they hold up, weighing up their strengths and weaknesses against the current competition.

In fact, I actually feel like it makes the mouse feel a bit more solid and controlled while on your desk. And if you do like heavier mice, you can actually add extra weight to it to make it even heavier. But if you're someone who prefers lightweight options, you might hate this.

Pros: Extremely accurate Hero 25K sensor, 11 customizable buttons, including a sniper function, adjustable weights for a tailored feel, dual mode scroll wheel, and great software for customization. Cons: It's heavier than most modern mice. It's wired only.

I love this mouse but I hate the quality control and what the brand represents, so figured it would be worthwhile to invest into a brand that cares about its craft. i’ve already replaced this mouse multiple times so please help me find the true successor to my computer peripheral woes.

❌ You're looking for silence: The Lightforce switches may be positive and decently quick, but they make a bit of a clunk that might annoy your living companions if they're in the same room.
