The Leatherman Micra is the pick for people who reach for scissors more often than pliers. It has 10 tools, weighs 1.8 ounces, and closes down to 2.5 inches. The spring-action scissors are the main reason to buy it. If your real use case is trimming threads, cutting fishing line, snipping tags, opening small packaging, grooming, or making clean little cuts without unfolding a larger blade, the Micra makes more sense than a pliers-first tool. It also has Leatherman’s familiar build quality and a 25-year warranty listed in the product information. The Amazon data we checked showed 4.7 stars from more than 3,800 ratings. That is a strong signal for a tool that has been around long enough to have real-world carry history.

So, I personally keep my Leatherman Micra inside my urban survival EDC pouch. Uh, I use it as a little grooming tool. Obviously, I'm not using it daily or anything, but if I do need to, like, trim my nails or any hairs, it's a great tool.

While carrying the Leatherman Micra around, I was genuinely astonished at how often I used it. I frequently pulled it out for small tasks like picking something out from under my nails, plucking a small hair out of place, or tightening the screws on my sunglasses’ hinges. The Micra works so well because it knows what it is. The convenience and portability make it hard to go anywhere without it.

What I love about the Leatherman Micra is that it isn’t trying to replace your normal multitool. Despite offering a wide range of tools, the main goal is to handle the everyday annoyances and tasks that you don’t even register in your brain.

However, its compactness and versatility, I believe, makes the Leatherman Micra stand out.

The keychain Leatherman Micra focuses on tools you use every day, rather than a multitool you might use for various projects. The multitool’s scissors and tweezers are a highlight, but there’s also a file, bottle opener, blade, and more.

The scissors on the Leatherman Micra are outstanding, light years beyond what you typically find on a multi-tool.

This is the Leatherman Micra. It's an excellent little keychain tool that lots of people use. I've had it on my keys for a very long time. But, it has one flaw in my opinion, which is that the scissor head is riveted together.
