Apple’s latest version of this charger offers 15W Qi2 support and, more importantly, a faster 25W charging speed with iPhone 16 and later. It also added a 2-meter length option for $10/£10 more, which is very welcome. At least a 30W USB-C power adapter is required for 25W charging.

MagSafe: MagSafe chargers are slightly bulkier and less portable, but their streamlined design eliminates the need for precise alignment when compared to older wireless pads. Additionally, many MagSafe accessories double as stands, car mounts, or wallets, adding multifunctionality.

iPhone MagSafe chargers often won’t snap on properly, keep disconnecting, or charge slowly, especially with thick cases or car mounts. The phone can get extremely warm, and some users see the battery drain faster or stop charging at 80% on iOS 26 beta. Third-party chargers that claim MagSafe may only deliver 7.5W Qi speeds instead of true 15W.

You could see the wired 20 watt charger is still charging considerably faster. Wireless charging is just less energy efficient. More energy escapes throughout the process resulting in the charging process taking longer. In terms of the wire chargers, you can see the 35 and 40 watt adapters do offer a solid speed boost in comparison to the 20 watt adapter. However, the 35 watt adapter in comparison to the 40 watt adapter performs pretty much identical.
