## Frequently asked questions

### Who is the Secretlab Magnus Pro XL for?

Serious users who want the most stable, best built gaming desk and have the room for it. It is the only S tier product on our Gaming Desks board and reviewers treat it as the benchmark other desks are measured against. Its all-metal frame, modular storage and stability justify the higher cost for a multi-monitor or heavy PC setup. If the XL will not fit, the Secretlab Magnus Pro gives the same build in a smaller footprint. If motorised height adjustment matters more than the premium frame, the Autonomous SmartDesk 5 is the budget pick.

### How long does the Secretlab Magnus Pro XL last?

Expect it to outlast the PC you put on it. The all-metal frame is the main reason reviewers praise its durability and stability, and owners of the original Secretlab Magnus, which shares the all-metal construction, report many years of use without failure. The only con the board records is the higher price, with no reports of wear or mechanical faults.

### Should I buy the Secretlab Magnus Pro XL or the Secretlab Magnus Pro?

Buy the Secretlab Magnus Pro XL if you have the space and run two or more large monitors. Buy the Secretlab Magnus Pro if you do not, because it is the same all-metal build with a built-in power strip and the only con reviewers record is its smaller footprint. The XL sits in S tier and the Pro in A tier on our board, and the gap is mostly the extra surface.

### How many monitors fit on the Secretlab Magnus Pro XL?

The XL is the large option on our board, chosen for a generous surface and a modular layout, so a triple monitor setup or a large ultrawide with side monitors is the use it is built for. Measure your monitors before ordering, because two 27 inch panels need roughly 120 cm and three need closer to 170 cm. If you only run a single monitor, the Secretlab Magnus Pro offers the same build without the extra width.

### How do you clean the Secretlab Magnus Pro XL?

Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and mild soap, then dry it, and avoid solvents or abrasive pads on the finish. Keep the cable tray clear of dust with a dry brush or vacuum nozzle every few months, because a packed tray traps heat from power adapters. Check that the metal frame bolts are tight once a year, which keeps the desk as stable as it was on day one.

## What this tier means

- S: Exceptional. Finishes top run after run; capped at 3 slots per category.

## How to read this

- Each category is researched in four independent runs, one per lens (expert consensus, value, reliability, community pulse). Every run ranks a board of candidates that deliberately includes products buyers cross-shop but should avoid. Placements score on a ranked ladder (LP), and tiers are derived from LP, so no tier is ever assigned by hand.
- LP is this product's points on its own category ladder. It is comparable within a category and not across categories.
- Link status reports what our pre-publication link check found when it fetched the cited URL. It says nothing about the quality of the review.
- A citation with no usable link is listed rather than dropped, and is excluded from the counted total above.
