## Frequently asked questions

### Who is the Secretlab Magnus Evo for?

Nobody we can recommend over its siblings. It has a strong brand reputation, positive community feedback and a large surface, but reviewers record a higher cost without added features, less modularity and limited colour options, and it sits in D tier at rank 10 on our Gaming Desks board. Buy the Secretlab Magnus Pro in A tier for the same feature set at lower cost, or the Secretlab Magnus Pro XL in S tier for the biggest surface.

### What is the better alternative to the Secretlab Magnus Evo on this board?

The Secretlab Magnus Pro. Reviewers describe the Evo as having a similar feature set to the Pro but at a higher cost with less modularity, so the Pro gives you the all-metal build, ergonomic design and built-in power strip for less. If surface size is the reason you were looking at the Evo, the Secretlab Magnus Pro XL in S tier is the large option with the best build on the board.

### Is the Secretlab Magnus Evo still worth it in 2026?

Not at its current cost. The board records a higher cost without added features as a con, and the Secretlab Magnus Pro in A tier covers the same ground. The Evo is a well-regarded desk with positive community feedback, so it would be worth it only if you find it cheaper than the Pro, which the board does not suggest is the usual case.

### What is the difference between the Secretlab Magnus Evo and the Secretlab Magnus Pro?

Less than the cost gap suggests. Reviewers note the Evo has a similar feature set to the Pro and a large surface, but less modularity, fewer colour options and a higher cost. The Pro sits in A tier and the Evo in D tier on our board, and the gap is almost entirely about paying more for the same desk.

### Is the Secretlab Magnus Evo big enough for multiple monitors?

A large surface is one of its listed pros, so two monitors fit with room for speakers. Two 27 inch monitors need roughly 120 cm of width and three need closer to 170 cm, so measure before committing to a triple setup. The Secretlab Magnus Pro XL is the desk on our board built around the largest surface.

## What this tier means

- D: Weak. Hard to recommend when better options cost similar money.

## How to read this

- Each category is researched in four independent runs, one per lens (expert consensus, value, reliability, community pulse). Every run ranks a board of candidates that deliberately includes products buyers cross-shop but should avoid. Placements score on a ranked ladder (LP), and tiers are derived from LP, so no tier is ever assigned by hand.
- LP is this product's points on its own category ladder. It is comparable within a category and not across categories.
- Link status reports what our pre-publication link check found when it fetched the cited URL. It says nothing about the quality of the review.
- A citation with no usable link is listed rather than dropped, and is excluded from the counted total above.
