It is for someone who wants a sturdy mid-range carpet washer that handles tough jobs without paying for the top of the board. Reviewers rate its deep cleaning, powerful brush head and sturdy chassis, and Wirecutter names it the top mid-range washer. On our board it performs comparably to the Bissell Power Scrub Deluxe in A tier. If you want the strongest cleaner available, the Tineco CARPET ONE Smart Carpet Cleaner Machine in S tier is the pick. ### How long does the Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe last? Reviewers credit it with a sturdy chassis that withstands heavy use, so the body should outlast the wear parts. As with every carpet washer the brush roll and pump go first, so rinse it out after every session and check the brush a few times a year. The board records no notable failure pattern for this model. ### Should I buy the Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe or the Bissell Power Scrub Deluxe? They perform comparably on tough cleaning jobs, and reviewers say as much. The Bissell Power Scrub Deluxe sits one tier higher for its record in extreme cleaning and its low maintenance needs, but it is bulky and has a moderate five-year failure rate. The Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe is the mid-range pick with a sturdy chassis. Choose the Bissell for the hardest jobs and the Hoover if value matters more. ### Should I buy the Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe or the Hoover Power Scrub? Buy the Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe. The plain Hoover Power Scrub can remove substantial grime, but on our board it sits in F tier while the Deluxe sits in B, and the Deluxe brings the more powerful brush head and the sturdier build. The gap between them is larger than the name suggests. ### How do you maintain the Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe? Empty and rinse both tanks after every use, run clean water through the hose and tools, and leave the tanks off the machine to dry. Clear hair from the brush head and wipe the nozzle so dried solution does not block the spray. Store it upright in a dry room. ## What this tier means - B: Good. A solid choice with real caveats worth knowing. ## How to read this - Each category is researched in four independent runs, one per lens (expert consensus, value, reliability, community pulse). Every run ranks a board of candidates that deliberately includes products buyers cross-shop but should avoid. Placements score on a ranked ladder (LP), and tiers are derived from LP, so no tier is ever assigned by hand. - LP is this product's points on its own category ladder. It is comparable within a category and not across categories. - Link status reports what our pre-publication link check found when it fetched the cited URL. It says nothing about the quality of the review. - A citation with no usable link is listed rather than dropped, and is excluded from the counted total above. ## Image https://stspimgdevmfyk46r5vwkay.blob.core.windows.net/images/products/hoover-power-scrub-deluxe.webp Product photographs are not covered: they belong to their respective owners and are reproduced to illustrate the product being reviewed.
