## Verdict

Wirecutter's current guide replaced it with the Series 12 as its upgrade pick, so buying the 11 means an earlier support sunset for near-identical money. Buy the Apple Watch Series 12.

## For

- Best Smartwatch for iPhone Users with 4.6/5 score
- Top recommendation for mainstream buyers
- Five-plus years of guaranteed watchOS updates
- The best resale and support ecosystem in the category
- CNET's favorite overall smartwatch, with polished software and a wide variety of health tools

## Against

- Earlier support sunset for near-identical money
- Superseded by newer model
- Lacks the battery and health-sensor improvements the Series 12 introduced
- Still heavily stocked at a discount despite being last generation
- Costs full flagship money

## Flagged as one to avoid

This product entered 3 of 17 runs as one buyers cross-shop but should not buy, rather than as a pick. It is published here rather than dropped.

## What this tier means

- S: Exceptional. Finishes top run after run; capped at 3 slots per category.

## How to read this

- Each category is researched in four independent runs, one per lens (expert consensus, value, reliability, community pulse). Every run ranks a board of candidates that deliberately includes products buyers cross-shop but should avoid. Placements score on a ranked ladder (LP), and tiers are derived from LP, so no tier is ever assigned by hand.
- LP is this product's points on its own category ladder. It is comparable within a category and not across categories.
- Link status reports what our pre-publication link check found when it fetched the cited URL. It says nothing about the quality of the review.
- A citation with no usable link is listed rather than dropped, and is excluded from the counted total above.
